When you decide to commission a hat or fascinator, the first thing to do is make an appointment with Carolien so she will be able to spend as much time as is needed to talk through your ideas and help you design the perfect hat .
You will be asked to bring your outfit as well as the shoes and bag you are planning to wear. If you have any jewellery in a significant colour, please bring that along as well. All this will make it much easier to get the colour and style right. The style of the outfit is as important as the colour when it comes to deciding the shape of the hat or fascinator.
If you are having your outfit made for you, it could be a good idea to get some extra fabric so we can incorporate this into the hat or headpiece.
We will then take any measurements necessary and make an appointment for the first fitting, if necessary, or for the final fitting.
During the winter months you will need to allow 4 weeks for this process, but during the busy season, from March to October, 6 to 8 weeks are needed.
